Doctoral Student

Gabriela is a doctoral student in Nutrition at the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from Centro Universitário São Camilo (Brazil) and earned a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from Columbia University. Her current research focuses on added sugars in the food supply and the impact of policies on the purchase of packaged foods.

When I’m feeling down, my “go to” comfort food is… brigadeiro! It is a traditional Brazilian dessert made with condensed milk and powdered chocolate.

The craziest thing I’ve ever eaten is… escargots in France.

My favorite food for summer is… either a smoothie bowl or a big salad full of veggies.
